Conducting usertests of BUPL's future domain, with users from Copenhagen & Århus
(NB: the design is BUPL's own)
Identifying the problem & constructing the interview guide
In this case we quickly discovered that the problem, was in whether the user was unemployed or working. Because of that, we had to make two different prototypes for the usertest, to uncover the different problem areas.
First, we identified which features or designs we wanted to receive feedback on - Where are the usability issues, and then we asked BUPL where they wanted the users to focus on throughout the test.
Then we created a test guide where the user was asked to try out different areas of the application or prototype.
We invited 14 users from the target audience. The users where asked to think aloud while working in the prototype, and then we asked them follow-up questions.
The results from the usability test were presented to the product team together with design suggestions that could fix the issues found in the test.
Finally, we modified some of the design, to make sure the usability issues were fixed. In this case, accessibility and phrasing were some of the biggest problems.
